Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern the use of the KIDIS website operated by Korea Institute for Data, Information, and Society Social Cooperative, hereinafter referred to as the “Institute.” By accessing or using this website, users are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.

Article 1. Purpose

The purpose of these Terms is to define the conditions, procedures, rights, obligations, responsibilities, and other necessary matters regarding the use of information, materials, announcements, inquiry functions, and related services provided through the KIDIS website.

Article 2. Definitions

The definitions of the terms used in these Terms are as follows.

Article 3. Effect and Amendment of Terms

1. These Terms become effective when posted on the Website.
2. The Institute may amend these Terms when necessary in accordance with applicable laws and operational needs.
3. If the Terms are amended, the Institute will announce the amended Terms and effective date through the Website.
4. Users who continue to use the Website after the amended Terms become effective are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

The Institute may provide the following services through the Website.

1. Users may use the Website freely within the scope permitted by these Terms and applicable laws.
2. Users must provide accurate information when submitting inquiries, applications, or partnership proposals through the Website.
3. The Institute may restrict, delete, or refuse access to information or submissions that are false, inappropriate, unlawful, or disruptive to Website operation.
4. The Institute does not provide membership registration, login-based community services, online payment, product sales, or delivery services through the Website unless separately announced.

Article 6. User Obligations

Users must not engage in any of the following acts when using the Website.

2. Interfering with the operation of the Website or damaging the reputation of the Institute.

Article 7. Obligations of the Institute

1. The Institute will endeavor to provide the Website in a stable and continuous manner.
2. The Institute will make reasonable efforts to respond to legitimate opinions, inquiries, and complaints submitted by users.
3. The Institute will endeavor to protect users’ personal information in accordance with applicable laws and the Institute’s Privacy Policy.
4. The Institute may temporarily suspend or restrict the Website when necessary for maintenance, security, system failure response, or other operational reasons.

Article 8. Intellectual Property Rights

1. All rights to content provided on the Website, including text, images, reports, designs, logos, graphics, and layouts, belong to the Institute or legitimate rights holders unless otherwise indicated.

2. The Institute may delete, restrict, or refuse to process submissions that violate applicable laws, these Terms, public order, third-party rights, or Website operation policies.

Article 10. External Links and Third-Party Services

1. The Website may contain links to external websites or services, including donation pages, map services, media platforms, partner websites, or program websites.
2. External websites and services are operated by their respective providers and are not controlled by the Institute.
3. The Institute is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, terms of use, service availability, or damages arising from the use of external websites or services.

Article 11. Service Suspension or Restriction

The Institute may temporarily suspend or restrict all or part of the Website in any of the following cases.

• System maintenance, inspection, replacement, update, failure, or security response is required.
• Normal service operation is difficult due to excessive traffic, network failure, or external service failure.
• Service operation becomes difficult due to natural disasters, power outages, emergencies, or other force majeure events.
• The Institute determines that suspension or restriction is necessary for operational, technical, legal, or security reasons.

The Institute will endeavor to notify users in advance when service suspension is planned. However, if prior notice is difficult due to urgent or unavoidable circumstances, the Institute may provide notice afterward.

Article 12. Disclaimer

1. The Institute endeavors to provide accurate and reliable information but does not guarantee that all information on the Website is complete, error-free, or continuously up to date.
2. The Institute is not responsible for damages arising from users’ reliance on or use of Website content, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Institute.
3. The Institute is not responsible for service interruption or data loss caused by force majeure events, system failures, cyberattacks, external service failures, or other causes beyond the Institute’s reasonable control.
4. The Institute is not responsible for disputes, damages, or losses arising between users and third parties in connection with the use of the Website or external services.
5. The Institute is not responsible for content, services, or transactions provided by external websites linked from the Website.

Article 13. Privacy Protection

Article 14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
2. Any dispute arising in connection with the use of the Website shall be resolved through good-faith consultation between the Institute and the user.
3. If a dispute cannot be resolved through consultation, the competent court under applicable laws shall have jurisdiction.
